DENTAL BRIDGES

At NorthPark Family Dentistry, we provide beautiful dental bridges. When you visit us for your dental care, you have experienced dentists who can help restore your missing or spaced teeth for a smile you will love.

While dental bridges can improve the appearance of your smile, they also serve to restore their function, as well. Many of our patients report being able to speak more clearly and eat foods more comfortably after getting dental bridges.

If you are interested in getting a dental bridge, contact the professionals at NorthPark Family Dentistry today. We will be happy to arrange a consultation with our dentists, so that we can discuss the best treatment plan for your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
    WHAT IS IT?

A bridge is a dental device that fills a space that a tooth previously occupied. A bridge may be necessary to prevent the shifting of teeth, to fix bite problems or to ensure the  strength and integrity of the surrounding teeth.

You don't have to live with a gap in your smile! Our practice offers dental bridges, oral prostheses made up of two or more crowns that fill a gap in missing teeth. The crown on either end is called an "abutment," and is bonded onto existing teeth to support the bridge.

Fixed bridges are the most popular, and consist of a filler tooth attached to two crowns in order to hold the bridge in place. "Maryland" bridges, commonly used to replace missing front teeth, use tooth-colored metal bands bonded to surrounding teeth. And cantilever bridges use two crowned teeth positioned next to each other on the same side of the missing tooth.

Regardless of your needs, we have a bridge solution that will work best!

    HOW LONG DOES TREATMENT TAKE?

Dental bridges can take from 2 weeks up to a couple of months to complete treatment depending upon tissue condition under the proposed bridge placement. During this time, a custom mold is made of your mouth and teeth and sent to a specialty lab for fabrication. From there, your bridge is created just for you. Our dentists will prepare your surrounding teeth, known as “anchor teeth,” so that your new bridge will properly bond in place.
